Design Statement

Because She Loves Me is a charming love story, we decided to take a path of elegance and intricacy with the set. The centerpiece of the set is the parfumerie shop. Much like the transformation of love in the show, the set transforms into many other locations as it rotates like the mechanism of a music box. The walls replicate the shape of European arched windows with their open, simple, and elegant appearance. To help show the world outside of the shop, we see the band onstage underneath a bandstand. The stage is wrapped up and tied together in a golden Christmas ribbon.
